For those who don't know Encyclopedia Pictura, they are the ones behind Björk's Wanderlust 3D video and Grizzly Bear's Knife.
They're young, they're talented. They love art, architecture, game design, film and... agriculture. Yes: agriculture.
That's why they've build from scratch Trout Gulch, their own dreamed town in the hills of North California - of the likes of the hippy communes, but with a slight difference: this one is high-tech, and centered around the values of "DIY skills, long term thinking, experiential education, and friendship". I just love it. After having visited several eco-villages so far, I could say this is just the approach I was longing for.
